BACHMANN 32-227DS 1:76 OO SCALE LMS 7365 Class 3F Jinty 0-6-0 Tank Locomotive
LMS Plain Black with DCC & Sound
A sound-equiped version of the LMS 3F 0-6-0T 'Jinty' shunting engine.
These engines were developed from earlier midland railway designs to be the LMS standard shunting engine. Like many larger shunting engines the Jintys were designed for mainline running between goods yards and proved to be capable branchline locomotives, some even being used on North London line suburban pasenger services. The Bachmann model is driven by a powerful motor mounted in a diecast chassis providing smooth running at slow speeds. The bodyshell tooling has been designed to allow for several of the major design variations to be recreated and incorporates a wealth of fine detailing.
The Midland 3F was adopted as the standard shunting engine by the LMS on grouping in 1923. A very useful locomotive able to handle many branchline trains as well as the sorting of long trains in marshelling yards, later builds incorporated a number of detail variations.
