A Graham Farish model of the British Railways design horse box van.
These vans were designed to match the new Mk.1 passenger coaches and were painted in the matching maroon livery as horse boxes were often attached to passenger trains. These vehicles could provide accomodation for several horses if needed along with a groom or attendant to ensure the horses were supplied with feed and water as necessary. The sides featured a large drop-down section forming a shallow angle ramp bridging the gap between platform and train floor.
