This Ambulance version, the 5th release off the new tool, will fill a gap in the collections of emergency vehicle enthusiasts. The Coventry branch of the Post Office Ambulance Corps - the first branch to buy its own vehicle, in 1963 purchased this particular example of the GPO ambulance fleet. It carries the authentic number plate MLB 986. Although completely separate from the St John Ambulance Brigade, the POAC were trained on similar lines and wore similar uniforms. The GPO ambulances were used to help staff in time of need as well as performing general public assistance duties.
